Calibrated distortion, whether F-Tan(theta) or F-Theta, is similar to the other distortion definitions, except that the "best-fit" focal length is used rather than the system focal length. Calibrated distortion measures the deviation between the reference and actual image height and selects the best f value to minimize the distortion, without the restriction that the proportion of linearity be defined by the focal length of the system. A focal length is chosen that best fits the data, rather than the system focal length, although in general the best fit focal length is close to the system focal length. The calibrated focal length used is given on the text listing for this feature. |
